Who are Zoe and Maike?

“We are the hosts of the podcast Let’s Talk Synaesthesia, neurodiversity advocates and long-distance friends – Zoe is a Singaporean creative and singer based in Japan. Maike is a Psychologist from Germany, based in the UK”.

Maike is a self-diagnosed autistic and synaesthete. She discovered her unique perception of the world at the age of 8 and has identified 10 distinct forms of synaesthesia coexisting in her brain.

Zoe is a Singaporean synaesthesia artist with ADHD based in Japan. She discovered her synaesthesia at the age of 25, when she found out that others couldn’t see the colour of their own voices.

The Location: 5 Torrens St Studio 2B London EC1V 1NQ

This is a place where you can take your inner world seriously, in the most playful way. We’ll learn about wellbeing and sensory processing, hear Zoe perform, and make art — with a tote bag as your canvas for the day.

The day will also include a pop-up gallery wall, pastries and hot drinks, opportunities to connect with new people and a curated goodie bag for every participant

In My Minds Eye – synaesthesia documentary:

A documentary that follows Maike and Zoe’s journey in celebration of synaesthesia, friendship, and the magic that happens when we open our senses and hearts.

Sometimes, the most vibrant stories are the ones we carry inside.

In My Minds Eye brings this beautiful, unseen world to life, and shares it with everyone who’s ever felt different, unseen, or unheard.  It will bring accurate scientific facts from experts in the research field, and bridge them with the lived in experience through @maikepreissing and @zoesthesia daily lives living with this neurodivergent trait in order to create more understanding and grace around synaesthesia.
