Liaison to Greece and Southeast Europe
Effie is a certified translator at the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs. She holds a BA in German Language & Literature with a specialization in Translation, Psychology, and German as a Foreign Language. Since 2014, she has been attending the annual Europe Translation Forum and has obtained additional accreditation from the European Commission, including translation and the use of inclusive language, as well as language professions and the digital market. Recognized for her translation skills and as an accomplished linguist, she speaks Greek, German, English, and Arabic. She has experience in translating pieces ranging from official government documents to individual civil material. A Poly-synaesthete, Effie has a plethora of interesting synaesthetic traits such as grapheme-color (S Y N E S T H A E S I A 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 ), spatial color, spatial sequence, and Time-Space Synaesthesia. She has presented at numerous international Conferences including the Royal Society Scientific Meeting, London, 2018; 2nd IASAS Synaesthesia Symposium, Moscow, 2019; Discovery, Awareness, Research and Outreach, Synaesthesia Society of Africa, 2021; VII Internationale Congress “Synaesthesia and Art’’, Granada, Spain, 2022; IASAS Online Conference: Synaesthesia and the Student, 2022; and the joint UKSA/ASA Conference at Oxford University, 2024.
Effie is a Fellow of the Institute of Innovation at the American Community School of Greece (ACS) and is currently leading a Synaesthete Innovations program with them, advocating for the integration of Synaesthesia as a learning tool for young students.
Effie is also an award-winning athlete and has competed at the National level in instrumental Gymnastics as well as in track and field 100m and 200m sprints. She is a proud mother of two ACS Alumni, who are the reasons she discovered her Synaesthesia.
