Animation Producer/Writer/Educational Outreach
Marlene Sharp is a creative and business-savvy entertainment multi-hyphenate who originally hails from New Orleans but is now a (San Fernando) Valley girl. Firmly ensconced in LA life, Marlene is top dawg at Pink Poodle Productions. She serves as producer, story editor, and writer on the forthcoming animated TV series
MONGLY SYNDROME: K-POP ODD COUPLE from ENPIX Animation Studio and Educational Broadcast System (EBS) in Korea. Noteworthy media consulting clients and co-conspirators include Autism in Entertainment, GOD’S GANG, GameU, Spectrum Laboratory, Rubber Ninja, and more. Prior to Sandstone Artists, Pink Poodle Productions, and ENPIX, Marlene was Director, Production at LEVEL-5 abby, home of YO-KAI WATCH and other Japanese hit video game-based franchises. Geek alert! If you’re a Sonic the Hedgehog fan, then you probably witnessed this girl pontificating about her Sega tenure on voluminous podcast appearances . . .
To be sure, as Producer, TV Series, at Sega of America, Marlene worked on much more than Teen Choice Award-nominated Cartoon Network series SONIC BOOM. For example, her extensive Blue Blur duties took her to the heights of nerd-dom in her first – but not last! – turn as an official San Diego Comic-Con panelist. She also contributed significantly to the inaugural Sonic the Hedgehog theatrical feature film.
Marlene is a 5-year ally of the autism community, and she grows more enthusiastic each day. This passion started with a consulting role at The Center for Learning Unlimited and companion animation studio Brainstorm Productions and swelled to collaborations with multiple artists on the spectrum, including the talented bunch whom she represents via Sandstone Artists. She is exceptionally proud of the ongoing Laugh Factory neurodivergent comedy nights which she initiated alongside Rob Kutner, Mike Rotman, Judi Uttal, Maja Watkins, Autism in Entertainment, and Spectrum Laboratory.
As a freelance journalist, Marlene concentrates on pop culture for noteworthy outlets, such as GlobalToyNews.com, GameDeveloper.com, DOGTV, Geekified.net, and CultureSonar.com. As a short film auteur, she has snagged recognition at La Femme Film Fest, Austin Comedy Film Festival, KIDS FIRST! Film Festival, Canine Film Festival, and San Luis Obispo Film Festival. Marlene is a winner of the LA Shorts International Film Fest Script Competition (an Oscar- and BAFTA-qualifying fest), at which her backdoor sitcom pilot received a staged reading courtesy of The Groundlings.
As a human being, basically, Marlene Sharp loves all kinds of pups. For proof, please see her
